Since eco-design has been gradually integrated within the real estate and construction sector, new concerns have emerged concerning the impacts of building or development projects throughout their lifecycle: socio-economic impact on the territory in which they are located (neighborhood, city, department or region), minimizing ecological impact in the design process, etc.
The question of projects’ local footprint and their contribution to economic development is a real public concern regarding corporate social responsibility. As a matter of fact, local stakeholders do not hesitate to publicly question public authorities or promoters on this issue – whether it concerns social housing complex, shopping centers, holiday villages, airport or even highway projects.
Briefly, the essence of Loca-Conception® consists in designing projects whose contribution to the territory is continuously optimized in order to achieve a net positive contribution.
