The Food Horizons initiative has as a goal to create a collective dynamic between companies in the food and food service industries on this yet emerging subject of sustainable food supply.
Launched at the start of 2013, Food Horizons gathers players in the entire agro-food sector, from production to distribution, who are concerned about advancing their knowledge and practices with regard to sustainable food supply.
Food Horizons organizes thematic sessions where players in the industry and experts are invited to share about what they have been doing and to exchange ideas about specific problems.
There are several goals pursued by this initiative:
• To identify today and tomorrow’s key food issues and contribute to the visibility and growth of the subject of sustainable food supply
• To implement a multi-sectorial initiative to promote thinking and practices on the subject
• To contribute to dialogue between players in the industry: technical experts on certain aspects, innovators and pioneers on the subject (feedback) stakeholders awaiting information from businesses (ex. local authorities, NGOs, consumers,…)
• To foster understanding and appropriation of issues by the players
