Cornis is a Geneva-based consultant with over twenty years’ experience in the environmental field at international level. He has worked with the United Nations and business in the field of corporate social responsibility, and was deeply involved in the establishment of the UN Global Compact and Global Reporting Initiative.
He was one of the contributing authors to “The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) for Business’ report (Earthscan 2011), the ‘Green Economy Report’ (UNEP 2011) as well as the ‘Nature in Performance’ (WRI 2012) corporate ecosystems guide by the World Resource Institute. He holds a PhD in International Relations (EU) and Masters in Business Administration from the Haute Ecole de Commerce (HEC, Paris).
Cornis works with the public and private sector in the areas of environmental policy, strategy, reporting as well as finance and sustainability. His work with the manufacturing, agrifood, building and construction industries have focussed in greening value chains and resource efficiency. His more recent work with the financial sector is focussed on the link between finance and sustainability, integrated risk management and integrated reporting. He also provides executive education in this field, including training on the valuation of ecosystem services or Natural Capital.
